10 Month Old Schedule: What to Expect?

There are many to expect from your 10 month old besides being so close to their first year of life! This is also the optimum time to incorporate a 10 month old schedule for them to get used to. That way, they can begin learning the idea of a routine and have healthier, more consistent sleeping and feeding times.

But besides incorporating a good 10 month sleep schedule, what are other things to look into and do for better care? I did the research and also want to share my experiences caring for my little one, so read on! I’ll show you a typical 10 month old routine baby whisperer recommends.

What to Expect From 10 Month Olds

Here are the things to take note of once your little one hits ten months!

Before I get into a sample 10 month old sleep schedule, what can you expect from them? Here are the things to take note of once your little one hits ten months!

⁃They will start sleeping straight throughout the night, about 12 hours and almost uninterrupted

⁃You little one would be taking two naps during the day, one morning and another afternoon nap. Their naps would range between one to two hours each

⁃They’ll start eating three solid meals and up to four milk feeds daily

⁃Thankfully, your little one will start becoming more flexible and less cranky if naps are later than usual

⁃Some babies might want to drop either their morning and/or afternoon sleep once they hit ten months. But take note that this isn’t common in most babies!

You don’t need to follow it to the dot

The 10 month old nap schedule and feeding routine are just examples to be used as a guide. They have similarities compared to a 9 month old routine since their schedules shouldn’t change as regularly, following the same routines for months at a time.

Tips on Caring For Your 10 Month Old

They should have clothes at the right size (you might need to shop for new clothes since they grow more at this time).

Now that you know the typical 10 month old schedule, how can you care for your little one better? Here are helpful tips to follow, from 10 month old naps to their senses!

 • This is the perfect time you should create safe zones accessible for your baby if you haven’t yet. Start installing gates on doorways, babyproof the kitchen and living area, and start keeping them protected from any households items. After all, they’ll start pulling or standing themselves up, even cruising around with the help of furniture to keep them stable.

 • Expect your little one to have better senses and respond well as they’re exposed to other babies, children, and adults. They may also start playing with other babies and love to move around. They’ll begin socializing and even start saying simple words like mama and papa, so start teaching them and talking as much as possible.

 • There are different games you can play with your little one to improve their social and motor skills. Try playing chasey or peekaboo games, while your little one might initiate their games.

•Make sure that your baby is well dressed and according to the weather. They should have clothes at the right size (you might need to shop for new clothes since they grow more at this time).

•While it might be a bit difficult keeping your baby scotch clean at this age, it’s best to bathe them once a day and keep your home clean, too. It lessens the chance of them catching bacteria that makes them sick!
